I had planned on dropping a motor in my daily driver which is a 88 Jetta Gl 8v. But then i came across an 86 jetta for 300$ Day i picked it up from Columbus, Ga It came with a motor i had no idea if it ran or not....didnt really matter cause im swapping for 2.0. So then come fun part removing motor. Ended up with parts everywhere old motor is out only took about 4 hours by myself. Turns out the freeze plug was blown out the back of the motor. have no clue if its good or not. After removing wiring harness, ecu, a/c lines, and a few other unnecessary parts plus forgetting to taking pics Dropped in my 2.0 8v motor from 00' VW Cabrio. I took off the fuel injection and decided to run carburetors from an Yamaha R1 motorcycle. I built an temporary intake just to get her running. overtime i will make a much nicer/shiny one from Aluminum. I took exhaust pipe from Advance auto parts, stuck a socket inside and crimped the pipe around it form the shape of the intake flange. Then welded it up. For now the project has slowed down as i figure out the wiring of the MSD ignition system to the original ICM. So its just sitting for now
